The chorus

Unfiltered. This is who I am

Uncensored. Louder than I ever planned

Unapologetic. Never backing down

I’m standing tall
while the walls fall down.

No edits. No regrets. No permission. No resets.

“UNFILTERED” by MERLOW

What it’s about

The moment it comes off

01

Everyone gets handed a mask

Tone it down. Don’t make a scene. Nobody remembers being issued one. It arrives early, and it fits. That’s the trap. Wear it long enough and the face underneath goes quiet, then unfamiliar, then gone. Whole floors of people breathing in time, agreeing very politely to a version of themselves that nobody chose.

02

Then somebody takes theirs off

Never a plan. Always a moment: a line you won’t say, a room you won’t smile in. It isn’t brave when it happens; it’s closer to breaking. No more mirrors telling you who to be, no more chains on an identity. And here’s the part nobody warns you about: one person standing there without it, and every mask in the room starts to itch.

UNFILTERED album cover: MERLOW in stencil type over a fog-covered industrial skyline with figures walking away.

03

And it turns out nobody was alone

Nothing gets rebuilt. The walls stay down, the rubble stays where it fell. But you can finally see who else is standing in it. Different ages, different accents, different reasons for having gone quiet. That’s the record: one song, sung fifteen times, by fifteen people who will not be edited.

Wear it out loud

The mark, stitched and printed heavy — on cotton, on denim, on a jacket built to last a winter. Same thing the record says, in a form you can walk down the street in.
